Trust Falls are Deceiving: Dealing with imposter syndrome as a minority in EdTech. Calling out the biases that create fear for new leaders in educational technology.
Breaking the glass ceiling in EdTech leadership is a remarkable accomplishment, coupled with significant responsibility.  These positions require one to be daring, cutting edge, and willing to take considerable risks.  As a minority  in EdTech, these requirements can be unnerving due to the "Boys Club" mentality of the field. This mentality spurs a constant state of "Imposter Sydrome" for those who don't fit into the typical stereotype of what EdTech or Technology leaders look and act like.  In this keynote, Amy Jackson will discuss what it's like to be a minority leader in EdTech and how Imposter Syndrome permeates the field for minority individuals.
