Welcome Welcome to Virginia’s world famous Technology in Education conference. Using this tool to mark your personal scheduling preferences does not reserve a seat for marked sessions, nor does it register you for the conference. We do not plan to have paper programs available on site. If you would like a printed program, please print a personal copy prior to arriving at the conference.
When you hire a plumber for your house, it is readily apparent whether they have done the job as expected; with digital learning tools evidence of effectiveness is more nuanced. In this session, we’ll share how you can build the capacity within your district to evaluate the effectiveness of your education technology tools and apply findings moving forward.
We’ll consider evidence based answers to questions, such as: Is a digital learning product effective for all your students, or just certain student groups? Is a district tool being used with fidelity across all your buildings, grade levels or classrooms? Does higher utilization of a tool correlate with more student growth - to what end?
This session will provide an avenue to better evaluate evidence of effectiveness of your digital learning tools and interventions (as required by ESSA, ESSER, and ARP). Methods of gathering and evaluating evidence will be provided as well as a review and discussion of real data from districts evaluating the effectiveness of their edtech tools.
